I post a section called Questions Without Answers on my blog every week. Here is this week's entry (posted at http://www.knowyourdallascowboys.com/?p=218)
(1) Will the offense come out firing or come out stale, especially given the distractions this week? It’s hard to imagine that the offense will start fast, but a surprise would certainly be nice.
(2) Will the play of the line improve after having two weeks off? Flozell Adams will hopefully be in better shape, but this line will probably need half of the season or so, at least, before it starts to gel.
(3) Can the other receivers step up in case Owens and/or Glenn are not 100%? It was good to see Patrick Crayton catching a couple of passes against Washington, and Sam Hurd looked good during the preseason. Either, or both, of them could make a big difference on Sunday.
(4) Do we see even more emphasis on the run game, especially with the receiver issues? One would have to think so. Tennessee has allowed 163.7 yards rushing in its first three games, and Julius Jones and Marion Barber have had two weeks rest.
(5) Will DeMarcus Ware and Greg Ellis dominate as well as they did against the Redskins? We continue to believe that this duo is going to be very tough to stop, but they need to be a constant threat.
(6) Will Terrance Newman continue to look like an elite corner this week? Tennessee has receivers. We don’t know who they are, but they have receivers. We’re betting that we won’t see the football too frequently.
(Or perhaps Drew Bennett (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/245091) should scare us more?)
(7) Prediction: Dallas 24, Tennessee 6.
We are betting on two late touchdowns. The Dallas defense has had two weeks to rest and to prepare for the Titans. Tennessee should have a tough time there. Our bet is that with the distractions this week with T.O. and Glenn, the offense takes a while to get on track. So I’m guessing that it will be a 10-6 game until the 4th, and then Dallas will run away with it in a 24-6 win.
