Sunday’s loss still stings, and it is hard not to play the blame game. And there is enough of that blame to go around. How the Cowboys prepared for the Eagles blitz is what perplexes us the most. We went back and reread a piece by Nick Eatman on DallasCowboys.com last week about how Dallas will handle the blitz (http://www.dallascowboys.com/news.cfm?id=1AC7774F-9F95-8309-6B63B4A813C0F519). Here are the quotes that now leave us scratching our heads:

Jerry Jones: “There’s no question that we’re backing them off with Terry Glenn, Terrell Owens and what we’re doing in our passing game,” Jones said on his weekly radio show. “We’ve got them backed off. We’ve got them playing pass defense. That always helps your blocking. We’ve got a lot of balance.”

Drew Bledsoe: “Well, I would imagine they’re going to come after us a few times,” said Bledsoe, who has been sacked only three times this year, but just once in the last two games. “They have an aggressive defense over there and you can always expect them to blitz a lot. So I would bet they’ll do some of that against us.”

Bill Parcells: “We work very diligently on the blitz like every team in the league does now because you are seeing so much of it,” Parcells said. “We have blitz periods every day of the week, plus numerous walk-throughs to cover the blitz assignments.”
Hmmm…

Looks like they (OL) need to start getting it together or replace the player that can't seem to get it right- at least before the next philly game

I glanced at that article from last week and just nodded my head. I really want to compare Dallas (and really not just Bledsoe) with a boxer who knew he was going to get hit hard but who was shocked when he was actually hit. I envisioned Owens and Glenn catching hitch passes, breaking tackles, and making the Eagles forget all about the blitz. That was some fantasy.

Yeah no kidding, with all of our weapons, apparently we were preparing for it, the Iggles were banged up, and we still fell flat on our face.
